Lamps for the bath - different types of lighting for the sauna
The bathhouse is a place for relaxation and well-being, therefore, properly selected lighting in the sauna is necessary for the right mood and perception of the environment. Some saunas may have little or no natural light, so lighting the steam room is also important for safety. Choose a beautiful lamp thanks to the presented photo ideas.
The right lamp for the bath and sauna
First of all, a qualified electrician must connect the fixtures in your sauna, which should be suitable for use in the steam room. The equipment must be able to withstand changes in humidity and temperature up to 100 ° C. Thus, a conventional bathroom lamp is not suitable here.
Fixtures for a bath in the steam room: which option to choose?
Sauna lighting has three main types:
- incandescent lamps;
- fiber optic fixtures;
- LED devices.
Within these three types, there are a huge number of styles and prices.
Incandescent lamps for a bath
Incandescent bulbs are the cheapest and also the easiest to replace. As elsewhere in your home, after some time, the light bulb will burn out, and you just replace it with a new one. You can also use different colored bulbs to create moods and change their power accordingly, using the switch to increase or decrease the light level.
Fiber optic lighting
Fiber optic fixtures have various color options. When using a fiber optic system, the light source is located outside the sauna, and the lights "shine" in the sauna through cables that can be placed anywhere, even directly above the stove or heater. A color wheel can be installed between the light source and the fiber optic cables to provide a constant light effect.
LED bath lights
LED lights are very effective and can be used so that your sauna has as few shadows as possible, or they can be placed under the benches, providing a shine of light and creating patterns on the wall.
Lamps in the bath: photo-mood for your sauna
Each of the above sauna lights or a combination of them can be used to create the mood in your bath. Using incandescent bulbs with wooden lampshades on the wall or LED tubes mounted under the benches, your sauna should be perfectly designed. Before you decide where the lights should be located, try moving them before a permanent fix so you can see where the shadows are falling, what patterns they create. The luminaires themselves can be placed anywhere, although only fiber optic light can be placed above the oven.
Warm light adds a touch of intimacy
Using simple colors can dramatically change your mood. Warm light will make the atmosphere in the bath hotter, but can also be pleasant, intimate and relaxing.
Blue color - romantic notes
Choosing a blue light may seem strange, but it will make your sauna soft and romantic.
Fiber optic lights - stylish effect
Fiber optic lights in the bath can be configured either to use the same color or to combine different shades, which can have a very stylish effect.
What kind of lights in the bath suit you?
The bathhouse should not be too lit, as this is a resting place, but choosing the right level of illumination can make a large sauna a lot more comfortable and intimate, and a small one - spacious and airy. Today, there is a wide range of lighting products designed for equipping a sauna. The range includes wooden lampshades, wall lights, fiber optic and LED fittings. Different types of lighting are used depending on the type of sauna (dry, wet, steam, infrared). The difference is mainly due to the protection parameters, which must be adapted to the conditions inside the cabin, corresponding to the level of temperature and humidity. Safety is the main criterion for installing the right lamp in the bath. Due to the technical parameters and conditions in the steam room, there are no significant differences when choosing fixtures. Special attention should be paid to lighting for the sauna, choosing the degree of protection of the IP device. In this regard, the minimum value should not exceed IP54.
What should I look for when choosing fixtures in a bath?
In the case of traditional Russian baths, you should not install lighting in the ceiling. There are certain conditions under which lighting points are set at least 30 cm from the ceiling of the sauna. Also, due to the nature of the fixtures, the choice of LED lamps is not the best choice for lighting a sauna. Light emitting diodes remain sensitive to very high temperatures, as well as to their strong fluctuations. Conditions in the sauna significantly reduce the life of the LED. This does not mean, however, that lamps of this type are not used at all. LED lights are placed in the lower parts of the sauna cabins in the form of luminous nets in the floor section or as LED strips located below the seat line.
Choose one of the many lighting options for your bathhouse, which guarantees safe installation and a long service life in the steam room, providing its users with maximum comfort.
