Two beds in one room: a necessity or an informed choice?

Residents of our country, who have already had to deal with the placement of furniture in a typical apartment, are well aware of how complicated this process is when it becomes necessary to put two beds in a room at once. It does not matter what kind of room we are talking about: a children's room, bedroom or a little room in a country house. The size of the housing also does not play any role - the creation of such an interior is always accompanied by numerous difficulties. Let's try to simplify the task by adopting the practical ideas of modern designers.

Most homeowners prefer traditional beds, rather than transformer furniture or sofas. This is understandable. Firstly, such a berth, thanks to a high-quality mattress, makes it possible to get a good night's sleep, to regain strength after a tiring working day. Secondly, time is significantly saved, since you do not need to disassemble and assemble the sofa bed daily.

What to think about in advance

If you need to equip the room with two twin beds, you should definitely consider several important points.

1. The conditions for staying in the sleeping area should be as comfortable as possible for people who will spend their time here. Therefore, it is necessary to make sure that each of them has an individual place for storing personal belongings and a personal lighting source next to the bed.

2. Each user should be able to move around the room without difficulty and extra noise. Beds should be placed in such a way that at least 60 cm is left for the passage. This space is necessary not only for free movement, but also in order to be able to make the bed daily. If there are cabinets with folding doors next to the beds, then this point should be taken into account - there should be even more space in the sleeping area.

Optimal sleeping arrangements

Most often, the design, which includes the placement of two beds, is developed for the arrangement of children's rooms, bedrooms and guest rooms. Each of the options has its own characteristics and depends on the size of the housing.

Option number 1

The basis for this method of arranging beds in a room is symmetry. The living room, at the same time, should be quite spacious, since it will be necessary to place next to the sleeping places not only two nightstands, but also two sconces, as well as a couple of armchairs (chairs). Parallel bedding is best for guest rooms. This option allows you to receive guests of the same sex and couples.

If you use this method of placing beds in a children's room, designed for two teenage girls, the result of your work can be a very stylish interior. To design such a room, it is necessary to stock up with the same linen, blankets, mirrors and other accessories, which must be present in the teenager's room.

Option number 2

A good solution is the angular location of the beds on a head-to-head basis. This option is ideal for small rooms, as it saves usable space. However, it is recommended to use it only when placing the next of kin and children. It should be remembered that if at some point you want more autonomy, then the head of the bed can be moved in the opposite direction.

Option number 3

In this case, the sleeping furniture, as in the previous version, is placed in the shape of the letter “G”, however, a free angle is left between the beds, which can be used to store all kinds of things. This is a worthy alternative to a bedside table - you can equip several shelves for books and useful little things. The lower part of the space behind the beds can be a place to store boxes with the right things.

Option number 4

You can "fit" into the interior two beds in a row, along one of the walls. This method of planning will be the only way out for owners of elongated rooms. If you install a partition between a bed, a cabinet or a cupboard, the space will be divided into two separate zones. As a kind of partition, you can use an open bookcase with books or toys.

Five practical bedding tips

1. If the size of the room does not allow to put additional furniture, then you should think about buying beds with built-in drawers. Such furniture will be useful when storing bedding, blankets, bedspreads and towels. Bedside drawers in the children's room are also very useful - it is convenient to put toys in them.

2. Properly selected wallpaper in the room where it is planned to place two berths will help visually make the ceiling higher. Fine pattern coatings or vertical stripes are recommended. This technique will avoid the feeling of congestion in space. Keep in mind that the color of the wallpaper also affects visual perception: thanks to light shades, the room will become more spacious and cold, dark tones will visually reduce the size of the room and make it warmer.

3. When creating an interior with two beds, you should seriously consider the choice of textiles, since this element of decor plays a very important role in the process of decorating a room. To give the design a finished look and harmony will help the same bedspreads and decorative pillows.

4. If you plan to decorate such an interior with table lamps, bedside rugs, vases or paintings, you need to purchase a pair of accessories.

5. When placing the beds along one wall, it is worth using a modular headset. This design allows you to combine the beds with a wardrobe, shelf or cabinet. Thanks to her, the sleeping area will take on a finished and stylish look. In addition, convenient places for storing things appear in the room.

It is possible that after completing all the work on the design of the room with two beds, you will be pleasantly surprised by the changes that have occurred in it. Instead of a boring space resembling a standard hotel room, you will have at your disposal a comfortable, stylish and very functional room, designed for two people.
